I'm in desperate need of a new recipe that features chuck roast as the main ingredient. usually i'll do a pot roast or stew or a chinese style beef stew but i'm tired of all lately i've been braising it, with less than an inch of beef stock and no other liquids, cooked at a bare tremble of a simmer in a le creuset pot.

Makes a nice tender roast in the crockpot. 3 -3 1/2 lbs chuck roast, trimmed (or similar cut of beef) nice recipe for a day i wanted to serve a roast, but it was so hot i didn't relish the idea of having the oven on. thanks for posting!

Excellent recipe! i doubled the recipe and used it for a 5 pound ribeye roast. wow! absolutely delicious! i'll be using this one over and over again. i was skeptical about grilling a chuck roast as i always associate it with moist heat cooking, but this was super tasty and looked like mahogany when i was finished grilling!
